Blue Air BSR23-L-HC 23 cu. ft. Bottom-Mount Reach-In Refrigerator, One Section, Left-Hinged Solid Door

Both are 23 cu. ft. one-section reach-ins with a left-hinged solid door and four shelves; the "T" model mounts its condensing unit on top of the cabinet while this one mounts it in the base. The bottom-mount BSR23-L-HC stands 82-7/8" tall with nothing above it and draws 2.0 amps, so it is the one to pick under a low ceiling or a soffit.

It means the condenser draws air near floor level, so in a flour-heavy bakery or a grease-heavy line the coil should be checked more often than a top-mount would need. Blue Air makes that straightforward: the condensing unit is built on a sliding deck that pulls forward, so you can brush the coil down without moving the 238 lb cabinet.

The "-L-" designates a left-hand hinge, meaning the door is hinged on the left and swings open from the right. That suits a position against a left-hand wall or at the right end of an equipment run. Blue Air builds the same 23 cu. ft. bottom-mount cabinet in a right-hinged version under a different model number, so decide the hand before you order — it is not field reversible.

Very little for a full-height reach-in: 115 V, 60 Hz single phase at 2.0 amps, driven by a 1/4 HP compressor. It arrives with a 9.8 ft (3 m) three-wire flexible cord and a molded NEMA 5-15P plug, so any grounded 15 amp receptacle within reach of the cord will run it.

The cabinet raises both a visual alert on the digital display and an audible alarm whenever the door is not fully closed. Combined with the self-closing hinge, which pulls the door shut from 90° or less on its own, it takes deliberate effort to leave 23 cu. ft. of product warming overnight.

The interior and exterior are stainless steel; the back and the bottom panels are galvanized steel, which is standard on this class of reach-in since neither surface is a food-contact or wipe-down area. The shelves are epoxy-coated wire, and the whole unit conforms to NSF/ANSI 7 with an ETL-Sanitation listing.
