Rockford RGI-1500 — Gravity Grease Interceptor, 1,500 Gallon / 7,560 lb / 900 GPM

The Rockford Separators RGI-1500 is a very large, two-compartment, all-welded steel gravity grease interceptor engineered for the highest-volume commercial food service and institutional facilities. With a 1,500-gallon liquid holding volume, 7,560 lb greasy sludge capacity, and a cover rated for H20 heavy truck traffic, the RGI-1500 handles up to 900 GPM intermittent peak flow from multiple kitchen drain lines simultaneously. Two independent 6" manways allow compartment-by-compartment service and inspection. All-welded steel with bituminous exterior coating. Built to IAPMO/ANSI Z1001-2014. Custom-built to order in Rockford, IL — non-returnable.

Key Features of the Rockford RGI-1500

1,500-Gallon Two-Compartment TankThe two-chamber design delivers superior FOG separation across an extended 1,500-gallon liquid volume — the inlet chamber captures the bulk of grease and solids, while the second chamber provides final clarification before discharge to the sanitary sewer. Largest two-manway model in the standard RGI lineup.
900 GPM Intermittent Flow RateThe highest intermittent flow rate of the standard two-compartment RGI models — 900 GPM accommodates peak simultaneous discharge from multiple kitchen drain lines in very large institutional or multi-unit food service facilities.
Two Independent 6" ManwaysEach compartment has its own 6" manway for independent access during inspection and pumpout — maintenance crews can monitor sludge levels per chamber and pump compartments individually without disturbing the full unit.
H20 Heavy Truck Traffic Cover3/8" nonskid diamond treadplate cover is H20 load rated — suitable for flush-with-grade installation in parking lots, loading docks, and service drives where commercial vehicles cross the lid.
Bituminous Exterior CoatingHeavy-duty bituminous coating on the exterior of the all-welded steel body protects against soil moisture and environmental corrosion over the unit's long service life in buried or grade-level installations.
IAPMO/ANSI Z1001-2014 StandardBuilt to the IAPMO/ANSI Z1001-2014 construction standard for fabricated gravity grease interceptors — the nationally recognized benchmark referenced in commercial plumbing codes across the United States.
⚠️

Custom-Built to Order — Non-Returnable: The RGI-1500 is fabricated to order. Confirm capacity, manway height, pipe configuration, and local plumbing code requirements with your engineer or plumbing inspector before placing your order. Returns are not accepted on custom units.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the greasy sludge capacity of the RGI-1500?

The RGI-1500 holds 7,560 lb of greasy sludge across its 1,500-gallon two-compartment liquid volume — providing very long service intervals between pumpouts for the largest commercial food service operations.

How does the two-compartment design benefit FOG separation?

The first compartment captures the bulk of grease and solids as the high-velocity kitchen discharge slows down. The second compartment provides additional gravity separation before the clarified effluent exits to the sewer — more effective than a single-chamber unit of equal volume.

Can the RGI-1500 handle heavy truck traffic?

Yes. The 3/8" nonskid diamond treadplate cover is H20 load rated — rated for commercial and highway truck traffic. The unit can be installed flush with grade in parking lots, loading areas, and service drives where vehicles cross the cover.

Is the RGI-1500 returnable?

No. The RGI-1500 is custom-built to order and non-returnable. Confirm capacity, manway height, pipe sizes, and local plumbing code requirements with your engineer or plumbing inspector before ordering.

Can the manway height be customized?

Yes. The standard RGI-1500 ships with 6" tall manways. If the unit will be buried deeper or installed under a paved overlay, specify the required manway height at time of order.

What construction standard does the RGI-1500 meet?

The RGI-1500 is built to IAPMO/ANSI Z1001-2014 — the nationally recognized construction standard for fabricated gravity grease interceptors, referenced by commercial plumbing codes across the United States.
